So what does a business analyst actually do?
Social events can prove to be a little tricky when someone asks, “What is a business analyst?” We know what an accountant does, or a plumber, or even a mechanic. In short, a business analyst facilitates change, successfully. When a business has a limiting problem, or there’s inefficiency, or friction in productivity a business analyst could get involved, and produce a solution that brings benefit. We ask questions and gather information. We look for what’s going on now and how is it done. We engage those involved and who have a stake in the problem and outcome, and implement solutions to remove that pain, or highlight an opportunity and move the company forward. A Business analyst will provide guidance, and communicate information.
